The University of Michigan has announced on Wednesday morning that the school has given men's basketball head coach John Beilein a two-year contract extension, keeping him in Ann Arbor through 2021.

Media reports say that the extension bolsters Beilein's pay from $2.45 million to $3.37 million.  Beilein is entering his ninth season as head coach of Michigan, he came to Ann Arbor from West Virginia in 2006.

He also led the Wolverines to the national championship game in 2013, where they lost to Louisville.  And the outright Big Ten regular season championship in 2014, plus an Elite Eight bid in the NCAA Tournament that season.
