New Michigan State starting quarterback Tyler O'Connor is ready to start.

Like, now.

O'Connor, who's in his fifth year at MSU, has waited for this chance for a while. It was about three years ago when the Michigan State coaches gave him a shot to win the starting job in the early goings of 2013, but he eventually lost out to Connor Cook.

And he's been patient ever since.

Speaking with the media Tuesday, O'Connor said he was anxious for the season to start, but not nervous (despite that he has upward of 20 friends and family members coming to Friday's game versus Furman).

He even noted that he's sleeping really well at night--more than nine hours on Monday night, for a matter of fact.

Hear O'Connor talk about all that and more in the video above.
