Heavy rainfall moving through Mid-Michigan has caused some flooding of low-lying areas, forcing some Lansing Area streets closed. Currently, motorists are being asked to avoid areas of Delta Township near Canal Road, Saginaw Highway and Michigan Avenue due to flooded roadways. In Lansing, crews are closing Pennsylvania Avenue at the CN Railroad overpass near Potter Park Zoo. And, Main Street/Lansing Road is also closed at the CN Railroad overpass just south of the I-496 interchange. Listeners have also reported other numerous flooded roadways across the region. Avoid low-lying areas, and remember that cars and trucks can be taken over by flood currents rapidly.
