Tigers take out the Royals again, 5-1
The Tigers (53-37) beat the Kansas City Royals (47-46) tonight, 5-1. The action started in the 3rd for Detroit after a line drive single off the bat of Ian Kinsler brought home Austin Jackson. The Tigers would add another run to their lead in the 4th after a fly single from Alex Avila scored Torii Hunter. The Royals got on the board in the 6th after a sacrifice fly off the bat of Billy Butler brought in Salvador Perez for a run. In the 9th, J.D. Martinez hit a homer to return to their 2 run lead. Avila would take the base and hit a 3 run home run as well. That would be all she wrote. The Tigers take on the Royals one last time tomorrow, game broadcast begins at 12:40 on Lansing's Big Talker, WJIM, 1240 AM.
