The Detroit Tigers (18-9) defeated the Houston Astros (10-22) tonight at Comerica park, 11-4. Miguel Cabrera started the runs for the Tigers in the first inning with a home run. In the bottom of the third, Torii Hunter hit a sacrifice fly ball to bring home Alex Avila, and a line drive single from Victor Martinez scored a run by Danny Worth. Danny Worth would go to hit a sacrifice fly to bring home Austin Jackson. The Astros would score their first run in the 6th when a pop up out from Chris Carter allowed Dexter Fowler to score. In the 7th Miguel Cabrera hit a ground ball so Ian Kinsler could score, and J.D. Martinez hit a sacrifice fly to bring in Torii Hunter. In the 8th, Danny Fowler brought home Alex Avila with a single. A double from Miguel Cabrera scored Danny Worth and Ian Kinsler, and a single from J.D. Martinez brought home Miguel Cabrera. In the 9th, The Astros fought back, a double from George Springer scored a run from Chris Carter, Matt Dominguez hit a single to bring home Jesus Guzman, and L.J. Hoes hit a ground ball to bring in Springer. The Tigers take on The Astros again tomorrow, game broadcast begins at 6:40 on Lansing's Big Talker, WJIM, 1240 AM.
