On Sunday, the Detroit Tigers announced a move that supplies some major artillery to their starting rotation.

The "Zimmerman" referenced, is Washington Nationals starter Jordan Zimmerman. Zimmerman's numbers last year: 13-10 in 33 starts, an ERA of 3.66 and just over 200 innings pitched with 164 strikeouts to 42 walks. His WHIP is a solid 1.205.

Zimmerman joins a rotation that already features Justin Verlander and Anibal Sanchez. The bottom two spots are expected to be competed for among a number of prospects including those received in the Price and Cespedes deals including, Daniel Norris, Michael Fulmer and Matt Boyd. Shane Greene and Kyle Lobstein are figured to factor into spring training competitions as well.

Zimmerman joins Francisco Rodriguez and Cameron Maybin as additions to the Tigers in what is still a relatively young preseason.
