Through almost four full years with the Tigers as of this writing, Ausmus had a record of 312-325 and won an AL Central title in 2014 with a 90-72 season. Ausmus would never reach a 90-win season again.

In 2016, the Tigers were within a half game of the wild card game and two and a half from the division lead but ultimately failed to make the postseason. The Tigers have not been to the playoffs since 2014 where they were swept out of the ALDS by Baltimore.

On top of shedding almost $100 million in payroll through trades in the offseason and during the deadline the Tigers will now be looking for a new manager during the Winter Meetings.
