Detroit Lions head coach Jim Caldwell will stick around in 2017 but the same cannot be said about defensive coordinator Teryl Austin.

According to a report from CBS sports, Austin will interview for the San Diego Chargers and the Los Angeles Rams vacant head coach positions.

Since becoming the defensive coordinator, Detroit's defense has been 18th in total yards allowed. Teryl Austin improved the scoring defense as Detroit  was ranked 23rd in 2015 jumped to 13th in 2016.

Last year he interviewed with the New York Giants, Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans and Miami Dolphins. In 2014 he was a finalist for the Atlanta Falcons jobs after Mike Smith was fired but Dan Quinn wound up with the position.
