Spartans Rally Falls Short Against Bulldogs
In their first true road game this season, the 16th ranked Michigan State Women's Basketball team were down by as much as 23 but managed to get within five with under a minute to go in the game, however the 19th ranked Georgia Lady Bulldogs made their free throws down the stretch and defeated Michigan State 69-60 Sunday afternoon at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, GA. Michigan State (5-2) was plagued by 27% shooting in the first half and was only 4-21 from the three point line. Aerial Powers led all scorers with a game high 18, Tori Jankoska scored 16 and Jasmine Hines added 11. Becca Mills pulled down 10 rebounds before fouling out. Georgia (10-0) was led by Tiaria Griffin who scored 15. Michigan State plays again next Sunday as they travel to the Windy City to take on Loyola-Chicago.
