Michigan State had not lost since they dropped a double overtime game to the Maryland Terrapins on December 30th. In the rematch the 14th ranked Terps completed the sweep with a 75-59 win over Michigan State Saturday afternoon at the Xfinity Center in College Park, MD. The Spartans (12-6, 3-2 Big Ten) saw their five game winning streak snapped as Maryland (17-2, 5-1) went on a 9-0 run in the first half and never looked back and saw their lead at one time balloon to 20. Michigan State had two players in double figures led by Branden Dawson with 14 points and Matt Costello who added 12. Dawson also pulled down 10 rebounds. Maryland was led by Melo Trimble who led all scorers with 24 points including six three point baskets.
