Media sources say that the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has voted to stop further bowl expansion until the 2019 season.

In the 2015 college football season, there were 41 bowl games, including the national championship game between Alabama and Clemson.  That resulted in three teams making it into bowl games with a 5-7 record.

There was a possibility that three more bowl games could have joined the fray, but Monday's ruling stops that...for now.
