Chris McCosky from the Detroit News is reporting that the Detroit Tigers will bring back manager Brad Ausmus for the 2017 season.

According to McCosky, sources close to the negotiations say that the Tigers have agreed to exercise Ausmus's fourth-year option which was in his original contract that he signed after the 2013 season.  An official announcement is expected soon.

The Tigers have missed the playoffs the last two seasons under Ausmus after winning the AL Central title in 2014.  Detroit was 86-75 this season.
