Sonny Gray Silences Tigers Bats, A’s Beat Tigers 6-1
The Oakland A.s made it two wins in a row over the Detroit Tigers behind the stellar pitching of starter Sonny Gray, who threw a 2-hitter over 8 innings. As the A's knocked off the Tigers 6-1 on Tuesday night at Comerica Park.
Gray struck out 7, while walking only one. He's now 7-2 on the season. Tigers starter Anibal Sanchez went seven innings, giving up four runs on five hits. Sanchez is now 3-7 on the year.
Miguel Cabrera drove in the only Detroit run on a double in the ninth inning, scoring Jose Iglesias.
The Tigers drop to 28-26 on the season. They'll try to salvage the finale of the three-game series tomorrow afternoon at Comerica Park. Broadcast time on Lansing's Big Talker, 1240 WJIM-AM is 12:40pm.
