Hall of Fame and former Detroit Pistons head coach Larry Brown was suspended for nine games of the upcoming college basketball season for NCAA violations committed under his watch at his current school, Southern Methodist University.

The school will be banned from postseason play in 2016 and face scholarship reductions over the next three seasons.

This is the third school that has suffered violations under Brown's watch (UCLA, and Kansas).

Brown is the only coach to win an NCAA title (Kansas, 1988), and an NBA title (Detroit Pistons, 2004).
