Numerous reports are out there today saying that the Detroit Tigers and their two-time American League MVP, Miguel Cabrera, have agreed on a contract extension that would keep baseball's last Triple Crown winner in a Tiger uniform through the 2022 season.

MLive.com has this story, citing multiple sources reporting a deal that would pay Cabrera a minimum of $224 Million over the next 8 years. Cabrera is due $22 Million for this season and 2015.

Opening Day is Monday at Comerica Park. The Tigers will host the Kansas City Royals.
