The Detroit Free Press' David Jesse is reporting that the Michigan State Board of Trustees have called a special open meeting for Thursday morning to talk about the future of Interim school president John Engler (pictured above).

Engler has been the interim president since former president LouAnna Simon resigned her post almost a year ago in the aftermath of the Larry Nassar investigation and subsequent conviction on multiple sexual assault charges while he was a doctor at MSU.

Engler, who was governor of the state of Michigan from 1991-2003, was appointed by the Board as interim president while the school searched for a full-time president.

There is also a report from Wednesday that the Board has asked Engler to resign in the wake of recent public comments about Nassar's survivors.
