Red Wings Sign D Mike Green To A 3-Year Deal

Multiple media outlets are reporting that the Detroit Red Wings have agreed to a 3 year contract with unrestricted free agent defenseman Mike Green.

Reports say that Green will get an average of $6 million per season. He was a top defenseman for the Washington Capitals the last 10 seasons.  He was the Caps 1st Round draft choice in 2004.

Green bolsters a defensive corps that was beset by injuries and poor play that contributed to a first-round exit in the Stanley Cup Playoffs to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
