The Detroit Red Wings have agreed to a four-year contract extension with forward Luke Glendening, according to the team.  Ted Kulfan of the Detroit News reports that the deal is worth $7.2 million with a $1.8 million Average Annual Value (which is the amount against the salary cap).

Glendending scored 8 goals and and 13 assists for 21 points during last season.  He had one year left on his current contract and would have become an unrestricted free agent after next season.

Luke played his college hockey at Michigan. He has played the last three seasons in Detroit.
