It doesn't surprise me in the least the Detroit Lions struggles at Pittsburgh and at home against Tampa Bay the last two weeks.  After all, THESE ARE THE LIONS!!!!!  No organization in professional sports figures out ways to lose more than our gridiron heroes.

It's such a shame..they have the best QB on this team since Bobby Layne right now in Matthew Stafford.  Calvin Johnson is the best WR in franchise history (Sorry, Herman Moore), and Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairly are beasts on the defensive line.

But the weak secondary has reared its ugly head again.  Chris Houston has been a major disappointment since re-signing with the team this past offseason.  Louis Delmas' physical problems continue.  And this team's penchant for bad turnovers has cost them this season.

As of this writing, the team is 6-5 and leading the NFC North.  But I expect them to lose at least three of their last five games.  And if that happens, it'll probably be curtains for head coach Jim Schwartz.  And then the team will have to search for, I think, a big-name coach.  This pattern of going after up-and-coming assistants has not worked for years for this team.

I hoipe this team can salvage the season, but I'm not counting on it.

That's all for now, I'm Brock Palmbos...signing off...
