Rain Delay doesn’t phase Giants, 8-2

The San Francisco Giants pummeled Tigers tonight, 8-2. The Giants got on the board in the 1st after Pablo Sandoval hit a ground single to bring home Angel Pagan. Giants kept adding on runs in the 2nd starting with a Travis Ishikawa soft line drive single to bring home Gregor Blanco, a ground out from Pagan got Ishikawa home. Joe Panik hit a grounder to score Adam Duvall. In the 3rd, a line drive double off the bat of Blanco brought home Buster Posey. A sharp ground single from Brandon Crawford brought home Blanco. After the 2 hour and 46 minute rain delay, the Giants took the field to pick up where they left off. Hunter Pence reached off a fielding error made by Nick Castellanos, allowing Panik to score a run. The Tigers got on the board in the fifth after a Rajai Davis ground out to bring home Castellanos. Ian Kinsler scored Bryan Holaday with a soft line drive single. The Giants respond with a Sandoval homer in the 6th. The Tigers will take on The Giants again tomorrow afternoon, pregame coverage begins at 12:40 PM on The Game, 730 AM, WVFN.
