Nine-time French Open champion Rafael Nadal withdrew from tennis' second Grand Slam event on Friday because of a worsening wrist injury.

Nadal said today at a press conference in Paris that his left wrist isn't broken, but his injury is worsening and making it very difficult for him to play.

He was slated to play fellow Spaniard Marcel Granollers in the third round tomorrow.  Granollers will now walk through to the fourth round.

Rafa hopes to play at Wimbledon later this summer.  He is a two-time champion there.
