Robinson Cano is now formerly of the New York Yankees. It is reported that he will sign a 10-year $240 million contract with the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners have been a "bottom of the basement" team for awhile. Even with the acquisition of Cano, they will not be a contender for the play-offs. Cano was an outstanding second baseman with the Yanks for the past few years. This move to the Pacific Northwest is simply for the largest bidder. In this day and age, I can't believe these MLB teams will fork over this kind of cash. Cano goes from one of the best pro sport franchises - the Yankees - to one of the worst. Seattle is a great city, but its not the "Big Apple." It is mind boggling how these players can get this kind of money. What's funny, is this will never end. The Mariners haven't been to the playoffs in years and I do not see them there anytime soon. Good luck Robbie!
