The Pewamo-Westphalia Pirates Boys Basketball team defeated Muskegon Heights Academy 54-44 in their Thursday afternoon MHSAA Class C semifinal game at the Breslin Center.

After a thrilling last-second quarterfinal win Tuesday night over two-time defending champs Flint Beecher, and a comeback win over Shelby in the regional final, P-W was able to come back from a 27-24 halftime deficit today. The Pirates used a 19-8 advantage in the third quarter to help pull away from Muskegon Heights.

Nick Spitzley led the Pirates scoring attack with 22 points. Lane Simon added 17 points.

Pewamo-Westphalia (23-2) will now play for the Class C Championship Saturday at 4:30PM against either Detroit Consortium (23-2) or Negaunee (24-1). Tickets for the game are available at the Breslin Center Box Office.
