New Closer in Motown
Joe Nathan is on the verge of becoming the Detroit Tiger's new closer. Nathan, 39, is tied with Rollie Fingers for 10th place on baseball's career list with 341 saves. Joe went 6-2 with a 1.39 ERA and 43 saves and was on the this year's All-Star team. The Tiger's now have a solid closer . At least we know that Valverde will never be coming back in that role. Benoit, closed most of last year and did a very good job. He isn't Joe Nathan who had 55 appearances last season. I hope the Tiger's keep Benoit as a setup guy. Bottom line the bullpen must be stronger in 2014. Detroit has made some moves, and this franchise knows they must get better to win their AL Central for the fourth time.
