The MSU Women's Basketball team fell to the Wildcats of Northwestern today in the first game of Big Ten Conference Play, 61-57. The Lady Spartans were off to a good start, taking the early lead in the 1st half, but Northwestern were able to snag the lead and extend it to a 7 point lead going into halftime. Though the Wildcats kept their lead for most of the 2nd half, MSU slowly fought back , but it wasn't enough to hold back the Wildcats. Becca Mills dominated in points for the game, shooting 21 points alone. But Northwestern had better stats as a team, shooting 23 for 60 in field goal, 13 to 14 in free throws. The Lady Spartans shot 20 for 69 in field goals and 14 for 17 in free throws, but they did out shoot the Wildcats in 3 pointers, shooting 3 for 14 from the 3 point line, as opposed to 2 for 10 from Northwestern.
