Michigan State graduate transfer Ben Carter suffered a knee injury over the weekend. The injury will require surgery and keep him out for an extended period of time although an exact timetable has not been determined. The injury occurred when he landed awkwardly after contesting a shot.

“I feel awful for Ben,” said MSU head coach Tom Izzo. “He had worked extremely hard on his rehab and to suffer another knee injury on a fluke play is incredibly cruel.”

Carter, is a grad transfer from Nevada-Las Vegas.  He averaged 8.6 points and 6 rebounds a game for the Runnin' Rebels last season.
