MSU Suspends Gymnastics Coach

The Lansing State Journal is reporting that Kathie Klages has been suspended by Michigan State University.

Klages is in her 27th year at MSU gymnastics coach.

An email from MSU Associate Athletic Director Richard J. Bader read  "I write this afternoon to update you that Coach Klages was suspended from her coaching duties this morning."

Bader said Mike Rowe would step in as interim head coach but did not go into detail about the suspension.

Klages name was mentioned in a civil lawsuit that claim she ignored athlete's concerns about their treatments from MSU sports medicine Dr. Larry Nassar.

Nassar was fired by Michigan State in September when sexual assault allegations came to light. He  has already been charged with three counts of criminal sexual conduct to non-patients under 13 is also facing federal child pornography possession charges.
