Michigan State will be without its top point guard for multiple games.

Lourawls "Tum Tum" Nairn will miss "a couple of weeks," Tom Izzo said during his pregame radio show ahead of the Spartans' game at Wisconsin on Sunday. Nairn has dealt with plantar fasciitis throughout this season.

Plantar fasciitis happens in your foot when straining the ligament that supports your arch. Repeated strain can cause tears in the ligament, which can lead to pain and swelling, according to WebMD.

Nairn has been able to practice and play through plantar fasciitis until this point, but he usually wears a walking boot off the court.

"It's become so bad that we've just got to give him some time off," Izzo said on his show Sunday.

Matt McQuaid will start in Nairn's place, Izzo added.

Nairn averages 24.1 minutes and 4.1 points per game for Michigan State this season. He is seventh-best nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio at 4.76.
