Hundreds of Michigan State University students plan to call on President Lou Anna Simon to resign over the Larry Nassar sex abuse scandal during a protest this week.

More than 400 students are expected to join the Friday protest, according to WILX. The event will take place at "The Rock," adjacent to the MSU Auditorium on Farm Lane. It is being organized by the MSU College Democrats.

"It has become clear that President Simon has not only intensified the pain of dozens of sexual assault survivors who are forever impacted by the terrible actions of Larry Nassar, but has also lost the faith and trust of the MSU student body, its alumni and faculty, and several of the state’s top elected officials," the group said in a press release.
