It's been an eventful few days for Michigan State football.

Mid-week, top-rated 2016 Ohio quarterback Messiah DeWeaver committed to the Spartans, spurning offers and interest from Penn State, Mississippi State and Michigan, among others.

Then MSU picked up four more commitments during the spring football game weekend. Here's a breakdown of each of them:

Abdul Adams: 6-foot, 185 pounds, running back, Washington D.C.
Consensus 3-star recruit; No. 13 running back in nation, according to 247Sports
Chose Michigan State over offers from Florida, Georgia, Notre Dame and others

Joe Bachie: 6-foot-2, 225 pounds, inside linebacker, Cleveland, Ohio
3-star recruit, according to 247Sports and Scout; No. 35 inside linebacker in nation, according to 247Sports
Chose Michigan State over offers from Illinois, Miami (Ohio), Western Michigan and others

Justin Layne: 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, wide receiver, Cleveland, Ohio
Consensus 4-star recruit; No. 19 receiver in nation, according to 247Sports
Chose Michigan State over offers from Alabama, Florida, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, West Virginia and others.

Noah Davis: 6-foot-5, 230 pounds, tight tend, Cincinnati, Ohio
Consensus 3-star recruit; No. 31 tight end in nation, according to 247Sports
Chose Michigan State over offers from Arkansas, Boston College, Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Wake Forest and others.

The four new commitments give MSU's 2016 class seven commits as of Monday, April 27 and helped vault the Spartans' class among the top 25 class rankings by several recruiting services.
