It's been an eventful 24 hours for Michigan State football.

First, the Spartans picked up Drake Martinez, younger brother of former Nebraksa quarterback Taylor Martinez, via transfer. Then MSU reportedly flipped two highly touted Ohio players who had been committed to Kentucky.

Martinez, a safety, started off his college career by spending his redshirt season at Nebraska. At 6-foot-2, 205 pounds, he figures to be one of the bigger defensive backs. He transfers in from Saddleback Cllege in Mission Viejo, Calif., a junior college, which means Martinez will be eligible to play for the Spartans immediately.

Twin brothers David Dowell and Andrew Dowell, of Lakewood, Ohio, are reported to be coming to MSU. Both are four-star recruits, according to Rivals and Scout. David is a 6-foot-1, 180-pound cornerback while Andrew is a 6-foot-1, 211-pound running back/safety.

The brothers had been committed to U-K but are reported to be flipping to MSU with just a week until National Signing Day.
