Michigan football's Director of Performance was arrested Monday on suspicion of drunk driving charges.

Michigan's athletic department released a statement pertaining to Connolly's arrest: "We are aware of an incident involving Fergus Connolly. We are still awaiting more detailed information before commenting further."

An Ann Arbor detective Lieutenant told MLive that lab results need to be submitted and confirmed before any potential charges can come about in the case. A process he said could take several weeks.

Connolly is currently in his second stint on a Jim Harbaugh led staff. From 2014-16, he was the Director of Elite Performance for the 49ers. One of those seasons was while Harbaugh was the head coach of San Francisco.

According to Michigan's annual salary report Connolly made $255,000 in 2017.

Connolly is the second Michigan staffer under Harbaugh to have a run-in with police. Jim Minick, a former associate athletic director for football, was arrested on similar charges back in May of 2015.
