Michael Phelps Named As U.S.A. Flagbearer

The United States Olympic Committee announced on Wednesday that 22-time Olympic medalist Michael Phelps will carry the flag for the Opening Ceremonies to the Rio Olympics, set for Friday night.

Phelps has won 18 gold medals in four previous Olympic Games.  He is the second swimmer to carry the Stars and Stripes in the Opening Ceremonies.
