The Michigan High School Athletic Association has announced in a release on Friday morning that the organization will expand school districts co-operative chances for more sports, mainly during the spring sports season.

The change will take effect for the next school year (2016-17).  The MHSAA currently allows multiple schools to form one team in several sports right now, including hockey and swimming.

The aim of the rule is to create better participation in sports like baseball, softball, bowling, and golf.
