Amelia McNutt led all scorers with 20 points, while the Nye sisters, Aazhenii and Aaliyah, combined for 27 points to keep the East Lansing lady Trojans basketball team on course for the Class A state championship game with a 60-52 victory over Wayne Memorial in the Class A semifinals at Van Noord Arena at Calvin College on Friday afternoon.

The Trojans used a big third quarter, outscoring Wayne Memorial 23-11 in that stanza to take the lead for good.  McNutt added four rebounds, three assists and four steals to her 20 point afternoon.  The aforementioned Aazhenii Nye had 11 points, 6 rebounds and sister Aaliyah had 16 points and 10 rebounds.

With the triumph, the lady Trojans move to 26-0 on the season and will face Saginaw Heritage in the Class A final on Saturday afternoon at 12:15.  If East Lansing wins tomorrow, it will be their first state title since 2010, when they were led by that year's Miss Basketball, Klarissa Bell.

It is the third trip to the championship game for head coach Rob Smith, his teams are 1-1 in title games.
