Veteran Grand Ledge High School head football coach Matt Bird has left his position to take another unnamed job.  This according to the school district's Facebook page on Thursday afternoon.

Bird replaced the legendary Pat O'Keefe as head coach of the Comets in 2006.  And he led them to an 88-43 record in his 13 seasons as head coach.

The Comets were 3-5 in the 2018 season, 3-3 in CAAC Blue conference play.

Attempts to reach Coach Bird for comment on Thursday afternoon were unsuccessful.
