The Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) has named Assistant Director Mark Uyl as the organization's new Executive Director on Tuesday morning, according to a news release.

Uyl will replace the retiring John "Jack" Roberts later this summer.  Roberts announced his retirement earlier this spring after more than 30 years of service.  Uyl will become only the MHSAA's fifth Executive Director in its nearly 100 year history.

Uyl has been with the MHSAA since 2004, and he has been heavily involved with the state's nearly 10,000 officials/referees.  He has also been a collegiate baseball umpire for more than 20 years.  He was a part of the College Baseball World Series umpiring crews in 2014 and 2017.
