Lansing's favorite son is no stranger to the world, he is Earvin "Magic" Johnson Jr. This 54 year old won a State Championship at Lansing Everett, a NCAA Championship at MSU, an Olympic Gold medal for the USA, and multiple NBA Championships with the LA Lakers. This man will go down as one of the greatest team players of all-time. He grew up in Lansing, Michigan and comes back to his hometown regularly. Johnson is an ambassador to the game of basketball and is now an international businessman. He is part owner of MLB's LA Dodgers, and is involved with many different businesses, and of course, he will go down in infamy with his storied rivalry with Larry Bird. When you're talking basketball around the world, everyone in the world knows Earvin "Magic" Johnson. That's why he is Lansing's favorite son.
