On Monday night, the Michigan Wolverines missed their second chance in six years to win a national title.

The Villanova Wildcats, led by bench player Donte DiVincenzo, defeated the Wolverines 79-62 to win their second title in three years.

Michigan held a seven point lead briefly in the first half of the game before surrendering it to the Wildcats.

The notoriously powerful offense eventually proved too strong for Michigan's defense, opening the lead up to 22 points at one point int he second half.

DiVencenzo led the team with 31 points.

A Wolverine win would have made Michigan the first Big Ten school since Tom Izzo's 2000 Spartan team to win the NCAA Tournament.
