The Detroit Lions have exercised the fifth-year option on starting tight end Eric Ebron, according to detroitlions.com.

Ebron was the Lions first-round draft choice in 2014 out of North Carolina.  And he had his best season as a pro in 2016, catching 61 passes for 711 yards and one touchdown.

The option pick-up keeps Ebron under contract through the 2018 season.
