Ryan Callahan scored the only goal from either team in a shootout but it was enough to give the Tampa Bay Lightning at 4-3 shootout win over the Detroit Red Wings Sunday night at Joe Louis Arena. Detroit (7-3-5) took the lead six minutes into the game when Johan Franzen blasted a slap shot past Ben Bishop for a 1-0 lead. Tampa Bay (11-3-1) winners of six in a row, tied the game later in the period when Steven Stamkos scored the first of his two goals on the night. Stamkos' second goal came in the second period and then Tyler Johnson added a goal for a 3-1 Tampa lead. Darren Helm brought Detroit back within one with his power play goal before the end of the second. The Red Wings tied the game when Gustav Nyquist scored with less than nine minutes left in regulation. Bishop ended then night with 17 saves including three in the shootout, Jimmy Howard stopped 27 of 30 shots in goal for Detroit. The Red Wings are off until Friday night when they host the Chicago Blackhawks in Hockeytown. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30pm on The Game 730AM WVFN.
