Verne Lundquist (pictured right, with St. Joseph's head coach Phil Martelli), the national television voice for Southeastern Conference football for CBS has decided to step down after the upcoming season.

Lundquist has been paired with Gary Danielson on the network's SEC broadcasts since 2006.  And he's broadcasted NFL, NBA, NCAA basketball, and golf during his tenure at CBS.

Before Lundquist went national, he was the radio voice of the Dallas Cowboys during their glory days of the 1970's.

Brad Nessler will take over SEC duties in 2017.
