It's regionals week in the MHSAA girls basketball tournament.  Seven area teams are still alive as of this writing.  And there are some potential barnburners coming up on Thursday in the regional finals.

First in Class D, upstart 9-11 Lansing Christian, who upset Morrice in the district finals, will face Jackson Christian at Morenci HS.  Christian coach Justin Terry has his daughter Mikayla, as his best player.  and the Pilgrims will go as far as she'll take them.  Also, in Class D, 16-6 Fowler, who upset Portland St.Pat's in the district final, will take on Fruitport Calvary Christian at Big Rapids Crossroads.  It'll be tough for both teams, I see Lansing Christian dropping a tough one, but I like Fowler to move on.

In Class B at Leslie, three area teams battle for a spot in the quarterfinals.  Ionia takes on Williamston in game 1, followed by Eaton Rapids against Chelsea.  The lady Greyhounds were the most impressive team during district week.  I think the Greyhounds come out of this regional and go to the quarterfinals.

And finally in Class A, a tough regional at Ann Arbor Huron.  First up, 22-1 Haslett will face the host school Ann Arbor Huron, that's followed by 21-2 Grand Ledge against Kalamazoo Central.  I've got both local teams winning on Tuesday, which will set up a doozy on Thursday night between the two best teams in this area this season.

I'll preview the boys district finals later this week.  But until then, this is Brock Palmbos...signing off.
