It's time for the boys basketball districts to begin, and we've got a wide-open tournament involving the area teams.

First in Class A at East Lansing, we've got three Monday matchups that could go either way with Eastern at Waverly, DeWitt at Haslett, and Okemos at East Lansing.  All of these games are toss-ups in my opinion.  Also in Class A at Mason, it's Mason hosting Jackson and Holt at Battle Creek Central.  Mason has Doug Bradfield and Jackson has Michael Johnson, expect lots of points to be scored.  And it's a tough draw for Holt, having to go to BC Central for the second time in two weeks. The Bearcats easily knocked off Holt by 23 in the first matchup.

In Class B at Ionia, Portland looks to be the favorite.  They've got a fairly easy district this week.  At Fowlerville, Williamston takes on Sexton on Monday.  In Class C at Laingsburg, the host Wolf Pack will try to get Pewamo-Westphalia if they play them a third time on Friday.  The Pirates won the first two meetings in CMAC play.  And in Class D, Morrice and Fulton are favorites to get to the regionals out of their districts.

I'll preview the girls regionals tomorrow as well as the boys district semifinals tomorrow.

But until then, this is Brock Palmbos...signing off.
