Tony Poljan, the prized college football recruit from Lansing Catholic, announced late Tuesday that he has verbally committed to Central Michigan.

Poljan chose CMU over Michigan State, Nebraska, Iowa State and Oklahoma State, among others. He had previously committed to Minnesota but decommitted after new Gophers head coach Tracy Claeys let offensive coordinator Matt Limegrover and quarterback coach Jim Zebrowski go.

The 6-foot-7, 230-pound quarterback is a three-star recruit. Michigan State recruited him as a tight end/athlete, but Poljan wants to play quarterback in college, which factored into his decision.

At CMU, he'll follow in the footsteps of his father. He also joins another former Lansing Catholic quarterback, Cooper Rush, the current starter for the Chippewas.
