The high school football season begins this week.  And in the mid-Michigan area, 31 11-Player teams and four 8-Player teams open the nine-week regular season in search of a playoff berth in late October with dreams of heading to Ford Field in Detroit for the state title games over Thanksgiving weekend.

So with games starting on Thursday, here's a list of the Week 1 matchups.  All of these games are non-conference tilts.
