    The Comets have been impressive the last few weeks, including the 34-2 pasting of Howell in Round 1.  They've closed the gap on Portland in the poll.  Grand Ledge hosts Brighton on Friday night.

    Junior running back Jared Smith added 310 yards and 6 touchdowns to his incredible totals for the season in Round 1.  A very winnable game against Saugatuck at home awaits in the district final.

    Another running clock for the Yellow Jackets against Vassar last week.  Ithaca hosts undefeated Sanford-Meridian this Friday night.

    Ovid-Elsie put up a tough fight for awhile.  But Tony Poljan and Tony Palmer were just too much for the Marauders.  The long-awaited rematch with Portland is on Friday night.

    The Panthers won for the 15th straight time over Haslett last week in Round 1.  Another arch-rival in St. Johns comes calling in Round 2.

    The Vikings are one of the great stories of the area.  Scott Farley may be the Mid-Michigan coach of the year.  And they get another home playoff game in round 2.  This time against Livonia Franklin.

    The Aggies knocked off Concord easily in the first round.  But they head on the road for the district title on Saturday at Homer.
