Congrats to Pewamo-Westphalia on winning another outright CMAC championship, which they did with a shutout victory over Fowler on Friday.

Also, congratulations are due to East Lansing, Haslett, Laingsburg, Fulton, and Ovid-Elsie for qualifying for the MHSAA playoffs.  Which they did with their sixth win of the season last Friday.

The top five in this week's poll remains the same.  But there are changes in the bottom five with Lansing Catholic and Williamston losing.

    The Panthers fell behind 3-0 to Linden last Friday.  DeWitt responded by scoring 33 unanswered points to move to 7-1 on the year.

    They should finish 8-1 when they host 2-6 Portage Northern this Friday.

    Last Week: 2

    The Comets clinched a share of the CAAC Blue title with an easy win over Everett on Friday.  Nolan Bird threw for 207 yards and three TD's on the night.

    They will win the CAAC Blue outright if they win at arch-rival Holt this Friday.

    Last Week: 3

    The Eagles avenged last year's playoff loss to Berrien Springs behind Heath Flower and Bradley Sinclair.  They combined for over 300 yards rushing in the game.

    They'll be favored to finish 9-0 when they visit Battle Creek Pennfield this coming Friday.

    The Red Raiders survived an excellent Pontiac Notre Dame Prep squad on Friday 29-27 to move to 7-1 on the year.

    They host an always tough Marshall squad on Friday that should be good prep for them before the postseason starts next week.

    The Yellow Jackets made it 72 straight in the regular season with an east 55-0 win over Hemlock.

    QB Joey Bentley has led the way all season long for coach Terry Hessbrook.  They will be a factor again this postseason.  Likely in Division 6.

    The Pirates destroyed Fowler 55-0 to win another outright CMAC championship.  The defense allowed only 37 yards in total offense to the Eagles.

    P-W will likely be 8-1 when they host Hastings on Friday.

    The Vikings are still winning despite losing QB Parker Smith to an injury.  They took care of Charlotte 51-28 on Friday.

    Nick Boucher's crew hosts arch-rival Ionia this Friday night.  A win gives them a home playoff game once again.

    The Trojans had barely 100 yards in total offense, but their defense stopped Sexton inside the 20 yard line twice in the 4th quarter to salvage the win.

    If they win at home against Okemos in Week 9, they could get a home playoff game in Round 1 of the playoffs.
