Kansas City took over sole possession of first place in the American League Central division with an 11-4 victory over the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park Tuesday night. The Royals (38-32) used two big innings, a seven run 2nd and three run 5th to win their ninth straight game.  Alex Gordon and Mike Moustakas each had two run home runs and former Tiger Omar Infante had three RBI and Yordano Ventura(5-5) pitched seven innings for the win. Detroit (36-31) did get a solo home run from Ian Kinsler and RBI from Miguel Cabrera, Nick Castellanos and Austin Jackson. Max Scherzer (8-3) was chased after four innings and earned the loss.  The two teams continue their series Wednesday afternoon when Drew Smyly (3-5) will pitch for Detroit while Jeremy Guthrie (3-6) will go for Kansas City.
