Francisco Rodridgez has advice for athletes heading to Brazil for the Olympics, according to ESPN that advice is "do your homework".

Rodriguez, 34, was delayed into spring training might also have had Zika be an issue for his entry into the United States for spring training, beyond the reported visa issues. He spent the offseason in his native Venezuela this winter.

According to Rodriguez and the report he was sick for two weeks with severe body aches, joint pain, headaches and other symptoms.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recently rejected a proposal from over 150 health professionals to postpone the Olympics in Rio saying "[The Olympics] will not significantly alter the international spread of Zika virus."

Pau Gasol recently added his name to a list of athletes who have publicly made comments regarding hosting the Olympics in Rio with the Zika virus being an issue. They also have questioned their own involvement with the Games. Serena Williams is another notable athlete on that list.

Rodriguez said it took him almost two months to feel back to his normal self.

The Rio Olympics are a little over two months away.
